Ghosted 03:20
The day that David Bowie died Sheila laid in bed and cried and fought with her boyfriend over some stupid shit again. Then walked down to the tarpits and studied all the tourists The legends and the myths the flat thirds and empty fifths. The man who fell to earth and the band that broke his hands how you twinkled in your high heeled shoes on stage and snow white tan. Take a walk Take it in Life is fragile it’s fragile like skin The day the reaper dies. There’ll be no one left to cry. He was home alone in bed He got ghosted by his friends. Take a walk Take it in Life is fragile it’s fragile like skin Take it off Be yourself you’re bout to something with everything else

With his hands at the ready he palms his hair slowly and drops a white iPhone onto a cluttered coffee table. Takes a long drag from a soda and blows smokerings in the air. Pronto Bottle rockets in the distance and the evening is receding. I gotta get a hold of Bobby I gotta get a little baggie. I got a pile of candy wrappers, some National Geographics, and way to many Red Bulls, and empty cigarette packs. Pronto Judson stumbles to the bedroom and collapses on the pillow. Now the telephone is ringing and Bobby’s pretty anxious We punk to bricks of Black Cat’s shrieking with Drunk Laughter. Pronto We wake up to some hot knives and espresso at 2:30 Oh shit, I missed the phone call. Goddamn the house is dirty. Where’s Sheila? Where’s my roomie? What are all these firecracker wrappers? I guess I’ll shoot out another text again cause I gotta get that package. Pronto Oh no, Oh no, Oh no...

Finding fault with your friends and their shifting allegiances to Mixed Motives Sheila never learned so much as when Bobby Basehead stayed out of touch Someone else got stabbed in the back. Got devoured by the rest of the pack to Mixed Motives Bobby never learned so much as when Sheila Shortbread stayed out of touch I fell out with a friend but I don’t know when. I only wanna be myself. When I offend, I get to be by myself. Sometimes he doesn’t respond because he doesn’t know what’s going on. He doesn’t have a clue. He does what he does and then moves on to somebody new. Make eye contact, have a point. Speak clearly, don’t patronize Use your hands and be polite. Know your crowd, be organized. Making friends with your faults. Maturing slowly into adults to Mixed Outcomes. We never feel as out of touch. We shift about the subject darting eyes dancing Double Dutch.
4.
The neighborhood slowly shifted from large black Escalades To small Subarus and SUVs in decline. To Hondas and Hyundais. Every streets a sentence with a word for house. Brokedown, Shotgun, Mansion, Bobby’s up in his apartment so fucking stressed out. The neighborhood’s a paragraph from the sushi on the corner to the market by the bar. You can watch the city change by the make and model of the car.
